If you’re looking for some cool drinks to serve in your man cave bar then check out these retro arcade-inspired craft beers from Play Brew Co, a Leeds-based craft brewery.

The Arcade ‘86 Series

Paper Trail is described as being a fresh, delicious and drinkable aromatic pale ale jumping with a huge pop of big, punchy tropical flavours delivered straight from the USA. Taking inspiration from Atari’s arcade classic Paperboy, this one is sure to get you feeling nostalgic.

Quick Strike is an APA inspired by Sega’s Afterburner and promises to take you on a wild ride full of big, brilliant mango and citrus flavours, finishing off with a magnificently light, crisp and dry finish.

Death Wish is inspired by the classic arcade gun-game Operation Wolf – one of my childhood favourites. It’s a fully loaded IPA with a backbone of British and American malts and hops. leaving a striking flavour of biscuit, pineapple and a piney aroma.

Twin Turbo takes inspiration from the greatest arcade racing game of all time: Sega’s Outrun. A modern-day twist of a vintage red ale, this session ale boasts big flavours of sweet caramel, laden with earthy, fruity, notes of hoppy marmalade.

At present, you can only buy these from stores in the North of England but it’s also possible to order them online.

Now I just need to get myself a decent man cave!

  1. Thanks for posting a comment! Let me know if you manage to get hold of any. I’m heading up north soon so may try to grab some then. Have to say they’ve done a brilliant job with the design on the cans – they look incredible. Hope they taste as good as they look!
